Verona

We took a day trip into Verona. Eric drove and serious kudos to his driving abilities! Italy is not an easy place to navigate. Once there we headed out to see the city.

We saw the Duomo and all of its eccentricities.

I loved the ceiling of one of the chapels.

Then on to Shakespeare's Verona for a smooch on Juliette's balcony.

All of the real letters to Juilette

Juliette herself with her chest all rubbed off. Apparently to rub her is to bring you good luck in love. Luckily we all had good luck so we didn't have to brave the crowd of unluckies.

Then we stopped by the Castelvecchio. We played along the passageways and towers.

My try at being a damsel in distress. Not very convincing.

The nights' activity was Opera at the Roman Arena.

All set and ready for Aida under the stars!

The stone seats were historical and cheap but not the most comfortable. And I overestimated the length of an opera.

It was pretty spectacular. I really did enjoy it. But I did curl up on my stone seat and doze through the 3rd and 4th acts. By that point most of the characters were dead anyway.
