We spent 8 hours in the Vatican Museum. We got there as it opened (after skipping past the long line and then getting harassed at the ticket counter for not having the proper identification) and stayed until closing. There was too much to see!
Check out the centuries old graffiti. Apparently my 8th graders did not invent the pastime of defacing property.
I spent hours (no joke) with the sarcophagi. This was my favorite. It was built for the little boy. And in the scene his mother is sending him off with a meal for the journey to the underworld and the father is giving him one last embrace.
During my college years I had a secret wish to somehow get into the secret Vatican Archives. Apparently their location isn't so "secret"
