No, I did not spend days 2 through 4 in a jet-lag induced stupor. We had a conference that, while occasionally boring enough to induce stupor-like feelings, was interesting but not really picture worthy. So here is the more interesting part of our stay in Barcelona.
Bike checkout! for $50 a year you get a membership to the bike check out and you can pick up a bike from any one of the many many spots around the city and just return it to another check in within 2 hours. It's fabulous and I am totally jealous!
So.. On day 4 we took a complementary guided tour around Barcelona (gracias EDULearn Conference!). While on this tour the guide happened to mention all of the blocked off roads for the Tour de France. We thought maybe we should remind her that we were in Spain... not France. But turns out, every few years the Tour rides through northern Spain! And it was the next day! So the next day we trotted up the hill to the finish line and got to see all the action.
And boy did we have a great view....
Kinda like the guy right in front of me.
But we did get a great view of the awards ceremony. And boy were there awards! I do not know how the Tour de France works but there were 6 awards just given out for this leg of the race!
The winners weren't all that interesting. But the outfits for the different company sponser girls were!
Probably the best looking.
No. I take that back. Carrefour takes the cake with those polka dotted numbers!
