Spanish Road Trip

FYI: I have been very bad about posting pictures. So before it is January and I am still writing "Day 14!" I am going to post in larger clumps.

Eric made a map of our travels just in case anyone wanted to see the incredible "S" we made of the country of Spain.

Salamanca!

My favorite cathedral for many reasons. One of which being the little astronaut by the door

Another reason is the fantastic relics inside

I Heart Toledo

Next item for my dad's collection
(if only I had a few extra thousand dollars...)

Garganta La Olla! We pulled into Garganta that evening and settled down for some food. I had forgotten how truly awful the food is in Extremadura. But after dinner we heard cheering from around the corner. We did a little snooping and stumbled upon a real-life gypsy circus! I had dreamed about adventures like this when I was a little kid!

My favorite part was when they gave three little boys from the crowd a hat and a cape and had them fight a "bull" (a man in a black sheet with HUGE pillows tied to his backside that he would whip around and knock the little boys over with) It was hilarious!

On the way out of town we heard a loud "thunk" and then the awful sound of metal scraping against asphalt. Turns out it was only the license plate that had fallen off. So brave and resourcefull eric jumped out to save the day in his safety vest. Thanks Fiat!
