Laaaaaaake Garda

We had a fabulous FABULOUS time on the banks of Lake Garda. Garda is one of the four major lakes in the Italian Lake District. (the others being Como, Iseo and Maggiore) We stayed with Mary (featured here in the red glasses) and she showed us all there was to see around the lake.

We had the most wonderful food with Mary. The first night we showed up she told us to sit down immediately and served us steaming pesto pasta. Here we had lunch with her cousin who lived in a village nearby.

Us with Mary on her front porch.

The view from her front porch.

Garda at sunset. I could live here forever.

We took a trip one evening to Riva Del Garda. It was here that I discovered that I have homicidal tendencies when hungry. I just about pushed Mary into the lake when she insisted that we eat on "italian" time - a.k.a. 10 pm. It was 4 pm.

Even the lake's beauty couldn't keep me from being passively aggressively angry.

While I did not ever want the Netherlands to win (their choice in jersey color was enough for me to cringe at the sight of them)... I was glad that they were in the finals. Lake Garda was full of German and Dutch tourists and made game night "exciting."

On the way out of town we stopped in the village of Limone.

And then we were almost killed by a giant tour bus while in one of the tiny tunnels that run all along one side of the lake. This was only the first of many close encounters.

And more...

I got my purse at Old Navy. Maybe they still have it!

I am very happy that I could read all about your trip on your blog. I am still feeling jealous.

Hahaha, Carrie that is why I'm a little bit fat.
