After some time with my family we headed to Yosemite. It was incredible. We drove in through the north and stopped along with several rented campers full of Europeans to take pictures of the first sight of the valley.

Eric really wanted to go hiking. I was lazy. We compromised with a "nature walk" up to the lower falls.
Eric may be risk averse when it comes to others, he has no problem scampering along wet boulders towards a rushing waterfall.
Before heading in for the night we waded through the freezing, but beautiful river.
Then walked back across the meadow towards our car to drive to our campground 20 miles out of the valley.
